3 Toyota SUVs Set to Launch Soon in India – Latest Updates
Here, we provide insights into three upcoming Toyota SUVs expected to hit the Indian market within the next twelve months.
Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is gearing up to introduce the mild-hybrid variant of the Fortuner, following its successful rollout of similar models like the Hilux in various global markets. This iteration, featuring a GD series diesel engine, aims to enhance acceleration, fuel efficiency, and overall performance while reducing emissions.
Toyota Electric SUV
Taking cues from the forthcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX, Toyota’s electric SUV is slated for an early 2025 launch. Anticipated to sport a 60 kWh battery pack providing a claimed range of around 550 km on a full charge, this SUV will offer options for single and dual electric motor configurations, with design elements influenced by the Urban SUV concept.
Toyota Taisor
Toyota is reportedly working on a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, potentially named the Urban Cruiser Taisor. Positioned between the Glanza and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in Toyota’s domestic lineup, this compact SUV coupe aims to compete with popular sub-four-metre SUVs in India.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected to feature minimal deviations from its donor model, with primarily badge changes and minor cosmetic enhancements. Leveraging its successful partnership with Maruti Suzuki, Toyota aims to further strengthen its market presence in India with the Taisor’s launch.
Powering the Taisor will be familiar options: a 1.2L NA petrol and a 1.0L three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, available with manual and automatic transmission choices. Equipped with a feature-rich list akin to the Fronx, expect amenities such as a nine-inch touchscreen, semi-digital cluster, six airbags, HUD, 360-degree camera system, and automatic climate control.
