Exciting Update: Mahindra XUV700 Set to Introduce Entry-Level Automatic Trim Soon!

Mahindra is set to unveil the new Mahindra XUV700 MX AT in India, expected to carry a price tag of approximately Rs. 15.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Recently, Mahindra introduced the six-seater variant of the XUV700 in India, along with revised pricing.

The homegrown SUV manufacturer appears to be expanding the XUV700 lineup further to cater to a broader audience, as indicated by an approval document for a new entry-level variant.

Presently, the Mahindra XUV700 offers manual transmission in the base MX trim for both petrol and diesel variants. Automatic transmission is available in the AX3, AX5, and AX7 grades. The addition of a new entry-level variant aims to make automatic transmission more accessible, possibly in the five-seater configuration.

Mahindra XUV700

It’s important to note that the XUV700 is available in five-, six-, and seven-seater configurations in India. The upcoming 2024 Mahindra XUV700 MX automatic variant is expected to be priced around Rs. 15.75 lakh (ex-showroom), approximately Rs. 1.75 lakh more than its manual counterpart. Currently, the AX3 petrol AT variant is priced at Rs. 18.20 lakh in India (ex-showroom).

This move will position the XUV700 MX AT to compete with entry-level automatic variants of popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. It could be priced similarly to the petrol AT versions of the Creta and Seltos, while being more affordable than the Vitara, Elevate, and Hyryder.

In terms of performance, the XUV700 is expected to offer superior numbers compared to its competitors. Most features available in the base MX MT variant will likely carry over to the MX AT, including an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a seven-inch instrument console, all four power windows, follow-me-home headlamps, a front centre armrest, and a four-speaker audio system.

facelifted XUV300

Looking ahead, Mahindra plans to launch the facelifted XUV300 in the coming months, followed by the five-door Thar in the middle of the year. The Mahindra XUV.e8, based on the XUV700 and utilizing the INGLO skateboard EV platform, is also expected to debut by the end of 2024.
