Google Layoff: A former employee of Google has come forward on micro-blogging site Ex (formerly known as Twitter) to reveal how Google suddenly terminated their employment. The ex-employee, named Alex Cohen, was working on the algorithm for the Gemini AI model. They shared a post on Ex, stating, “It’s with great sadness that I inform you I was let go by Google today. I was responsible for enhancing the algorithm for Gemini.”
Google Abruptly Dismisses Employee
However, they suddenly lost access to Hangouts and Google Drive, followed by a message from their manager informing them of their termination. They further stated, “Today, following complaints on Twitter, I suddenly lost access to Hangouts and Google Drive, and my manager messaged me only to inform me that I’ve been let go.”
They continued, “I’m receiving a 12-month severance package and will decide what to do next ($2.7 million demand). The journey of learning about LLM and AI over the past 5 months has been amazing!”
