Rajasthan has a good network of state and national highways that pass through the area, ensuring seamless service on the roads. It is important to maintain the roads to ensure a smoother ride. The State Government of Rajasthan charges a Road Tax or Motor Vehicle tax for the purchase of every vehicle within the state.

Rajasthan has 53 Regional Transport Offices, a government agency responsible for the management of traffic in the state. This includes collecting road tax. All vehicle owners are required to pay the Rajasthan road taxes and register their vehicles with the RTO in order to receive their unique RTO code.

Registration Charges Rs. 600 – For all cars
Hypothecation Charges Rs. 1,500 – If the car is purchased on a loan
Number Plate Charges Rs. 230 – 400 – Same for HSRP Number Plate
Parking Fee/State Development Charges Rs. 2,000 – MCD Parking Fees for cars under Rs. 4 Lakh Rs. 4,000 – MCD Parking Fees for cars above Rs. 4 Lakh (Applicable in some States)
Temporary Registration Charges Rs. 1,200 – 1,500 – Temporary Registration for up to 1 month
Road Tax Charges  CNG and Petrol Cars: Under 800cc – 6%, Engine under 800cc and under 1,200cc – 9%, Others – 10% Diesel Cars: Engine under 800cc and under 1,200cc – 11%, Others – 12% Added Surcharge: 12.5% of Payable Road Tax Added Green Tax: Engines under 1.5L – Rs. 2,500, Engines above 1.5L but under 2.0L – Rs. 2,500, Engines above 2.0L – Rs. 5,000 Cars with above 2.0L engines and more than 5 seats – Rs. 2,500 Added Green Tax
FasTag Charges Rs. 600 FasTag fees payable on purchase of the vehicle
