Rajasthan has a good network of state and national highways that pass through the area, ensuring seamless service on the roads. It is important to maintain the roads to ensure a smoother ride. The State Government of Rajasthan charges a Road Tax or Motor Vehicle tax for the purchase of every vehicle within the state.

Rajasthan has 53 Regional Transport Offices, a government agency responsible for the management of traffic in the state. This includes collecting road tax. All vehicle owners are required to pay the Rajasthan road taxes and register their vehicles with the RTO in order to receive their unique RTO code.
