Expired Driving License

Driving without a Driving License/expired License

According to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, using a vehicle while possessing an expired license is illegal. According to Section 177 of the Act, it is a serious traffic crime that is penalized by law. New traffic regulations that went into effect in September 2019 increased the fine for driving while ineligible or with an expired license from 500 to 5000. The defaulter may also be sentenced to up to three months in prison in addition to the fine. However, the acceptable amounts may differ from one state to another.
